My HP TouchSmart IQ 506 PC

HP TouchSmart PCHP TouchSmart PC

My custom PC's motherboard had died and I figured it was time to "get with the program" and get a new system that's a bit more recently technology.

I was battling between getting a whitebox system (build it myself) or a brand-box (Dell, HP, etc.). I went shopping for my dad, as he himself needed a new PC, also. I found him a good Dell system at Best Buy but before I even got to looking I noticed (couldn't help but) the HP TouchSmart IQ 504 PC.

We both immediately fell in love with it but the price ($1,299) was not making it easy. To make a long story short and after showing it to my wife who also immediately fell in love with it (and gave the extra push I needed to convince myself to get it), I started shopping online and she what I find out about it.

Well, I'm glad I did because Amazon.com had the IQ 506 for $1,389. The 504 comes with a 2GHz CPU (Core 2 Duo) and a 320GB HDD. Now, the 506 came with a 2.16GHz CPU, a 500GB HDD, and a TV Tuner...all for just $89 more...I was sold.

Just got home from a play that my wife, parents, step-sister, friend, and myself attended at Sight & Sound Theatres called In The Beginning.I knew that package had arrived while I was away so I was eager to get home and start playing with my new toy...loving it!
