Horizontal Lines on a Word document

Today at work a user had an issue (which I'm not sure if I would call an issue) in which a Office Word document had horizontal lines throughout the whole document. It looked like sheets of college ruled notebook paper.

Turns out it wasn't some bizarre computer bug but simply a case of an accidentally changed setting. The following are for Word 2007 because this is where I first ran into this:

  1. Click the View tab.
  2. In the Show/Hide section, uncheck the Gridlines checkbox.
